We are pleased to announce we have two exciting opportunities to join our small but growing dairy production team on the farm.

We are looking to find two people mad enough to join our eclectic team to work unsociable hours on basic pay with the intention that we can grow the business into a profitable one that can properly support us all.

These roles include hard work, lifting, carrying, cleaning, and regular early mornings, late evenings and weekend working. But they give the opportunity to learn something new and very different in a unique working environment which we hope will be rewarding.

Applicants must love dairy products as tasting is a key part of the process dairy roles.

Pasteuriser Operator

(Training Given) Full Time from £8.50/hr

We are seeking a full time team member to run our milk pasteuriser and bottle filler on 3 afternoons and evenings a week.  Also to support the production of cream, cheese and yogurt in the process dairy to complete the full time role (37 hours). 

Full on the job training will be given.  Starting pay during training will be £8.50 per hour with a pay review after 4 months and potential for further progression as the business grows.

We are looking for someone focussed with a high level of attention to detail and capable of multi-tasking.  As well as setting up, cleaning, sterilising and running the pasteuriser, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the milk process room, record keeping and will help with making of cream, potting yogurt and also attending the occasional farmers market or using our van to do a delivery round when required.

Candidates must be methodical, thorough, able to follow clear processes and also make appropriate decisions about conflicting demands when they occur.

Candidates will need to complete a food safety qualification as part of their training if they do not already hold one.

You must hold a valid UK driving licence.

Apprentice/Trainee Cheese and Yogurt Maker

Fixed Term Contract 12 to 18 months from £3.90/hr. Full time role (37 hours). 

We are seeking a team member to support the production of yogurt and cheese making in the dairy.

The primary role will be in the labelling, potting, bottling and packing of yogurt, milk, cream and cheese and cleaning associated with these processes.  You will be trained in food safety and HACCP and will support all parts of the dairy food processing, support at farmers markets, events and farm open days.  Upon successful completion of the basic training, you will receive specialist training in cheese making with the possibility of joining the team permanently as assistant cheesemaker on completion of the apprenticeship/traineeship.  Contract term dependant on length of apprenticeship course chosen.

Cheesemaking is 90% cleaning and sterilising.  Candidates must be thorough, be able to follow clear instructions and keep records.  It is a mixture of cooking and chemistry and some knowledge of basic science is helpful.

Candidates will need to complete a food safety qualification as part of their training if they do not already hold one.
